EXTERNAL VS. INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING

The Ridge is an internally routed dropper post, which means the cable will run through internal ports in your frame (not sure what this means? No worries - read on). Determining what cable routing is compatible with your bike is the first step in picking dropper post compatibility.

Steps to Quickly Determine Routing Style
  1. Does your bike currently have a dropper? If so, is the cable running through the inside of the frame (internal routing) or is it secured along the outside of your frame (external)?
  2. What’s the age of your bike? Internal routing started around 2014 on high end mountain bikes and became more common on bikes after 2016 - if your bike is older than that it most likely is only compatible with external routing.
  3. Got a newer bike? Look for internal cable ports that would send the cable housing up the seat tube to the bottom of the post. Common spots for a port are towards the bottom of the seat tube, near the bottom bracket or possibly up near the head tube where your other internally routed cables enter.

How Does Travel Adjust work?

Our travel adjust system allows for a total of 30mm travel reduction in 5mm increments. If you were riding that line between travel sizes you can now fine-tune the perfect fit by following the easy directions below:

  1. Begin by lowering your dropper at or below the desired travel length (just make sure it’s not fully extended!)
  2. Unthread the midcap with your hand and slide it up to reveal the white DU Bushing.
  3. You’ll see negative numbers with corresponding notches machined into the post (each # represents decreasing travel.
  4. Slide the DU bushing up and rotate it to align the black arrow with the amount of travel you would like to reduce, then seat the arrow into the machined groove. (Make sure it’s fit securely into these notches!)
  5. After pushing the DU Bushing back down, lower the midcap and hand tighten (no need to go overboard!) and ride off into the sunset with the perfect travel for you.

RIDGE

service program

Like most of us, PNW dropper posts need a little TLC to work their best. This service can be done at home, but if you're not feeling that grease stain life, we can take care of it for you. Our service program treats your PNW dropper post for regular wear and tear. Learn More >>>

FAQ

Is this post compatible with my bike?

Compatibility starts with what routing accommodation your bike has (the Ridge features internal routing) and your bike diameter. Learn more about measuring here>>>

Does the post come w/ internal cable & housing?

We include our cable and housing kits with each of our levers. When you order the dropper by itself cable and housing will not be included.

How often do I need to service the post?

As riding frequency and conditions vary, we do not have a strict service interval. Instead, we recommend servicing your post if it starts to feel sticky/slows down. When it does come down to service it is a quick and easy, at home process.

What’s the difference between the Ridge and the Rainier Dropper Post?

Both posts are available for bikes with 30.9mm & 31.6mm seat tube diameters. However the Rainier has more features and more travel options as well as a more lightweight chassis.
